Ok... you're reading the title and wondering ....what does she mean by "liquid gold?" I am referring to breast milk. Breast milk is full of water, fat, carbohydrates, protein, vitamins and minerals, amino acids, enzymes, and white cells. All these components are essential for newborns growth and brain development. Mother's milk also helps build the infants immunity so they are about to fight sicknesses easier and have a lesser chance of getting ear infections.
Breast milk should be be pure and drank by itself. It should not be mixed with other formulas or cows milk. Why??? If breastmilk is mixed the components in the mothers milk will be broken down and the nutrients will decrease. This will cause the baby to miss out on the benefits of the mother's milk.
This is what I have learned from nurses when I was breastfeeding my child and thought it was very interesting.
